Good registrar with good support, interface and pricing?

    Okay, I've read that:

godaddy = no no, namecheap = mixed reviews, that enom is fairly pricey but has excellent support and interface and is best for resellers, moniker = good pricing and interface = decent, etc., etc.

Anyone wants to recommend a domain registrar that has good support, an easy-to-use interface and good pricing? I'm trying to learn how to do e-commerce and don't want to pay more than $12++ for a domain at this stage. And I've only handled domains a couple of times and found GoDaddy's interface to be superbly painful.

There seem to be a ton of registrars out there and I have no idea which ones are really good.

Thanks! As always, this forum is awesome.

I've always used www.dynadot.com, they have been an excellent registrar.

I recommend http://www.netearthone.com/, they have excellent support, easy to use interface and awesome pricing.

Thank you all for the recommendations. I'll make sure to look into them.

Actually I don't know why you don't like such good companies as Godaddy and Namecheap, but Network Solution can be also considered as a good alternative. Good luck.

That's their retail rate. Here's the reseller price. You can just sign-up for one and purchase from your reseller account. It doesn't make much of a difference to direct purchase.

    +1 NetEarthOne here too.
    Great prices and great support.

Last downtime at Enom, and their attitude(No notification, no apology, no info, nothing, just like nothing happened) was the last straw. I will move my domains gradually from them to NE1.

Just one thing to add: check support! You may need it someday. Mine is not one of those discussed. But I looked at several you've discussed, due to frustration with mine, today, and many share this fault: support hours, M-F 9-5 (or like that...)

Today (Saturday) at about noon, my registrar's logon handler went south. For all four of my clients, logon attempts with proper userids and passwords yielded PHP errors. No support available. Not good!

If you anticipate that human intervention might be important to you during "odd" times, consider that, before choosing a registrar. (I'm considering finding a *different* registrar even as I type, and hoping I don't have to go to $great$ expense for myself and my clients.)

Whoa thanks, everyone for the input: yeesh, that's what I get for not checking after a few days.

Say... what are NE1's support hours like? Though their pricing seems kinda low, given that it must cost quite a bit to buy a domain from some registrar.

Okay, let me see... 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. GMT time... which would be... 4pm to 6 a.m. GMT + 8. Yep, sure... I think I'll sign up when my exercise tells me to get a domain a few days later... haha.

why is netearthone so expensive and yet they advertise it as affrodable and cheap.. and some of u have preferred it ?? what is so special about netearthone?

  24. #24

After my searches yesterday (Saturday October 24) Namecheap looks like the best. $9.69 for 24/7 support - and that support is via chat/ticket. I can't see the control panel, though. I'd want to have *granular* control over DNS!

I've been wondering the same thing, i've come across that website (netearthone) a few times within the last few months and now seeing this post, I'm really wondering "what is so special about that registrar?" That price is quite ridiculous to me.

Also I have a question for the OP, are you looking for a qualified registrar for reselling or just to register your domain(s)?

Support is really lack lusture. You need to call them really, however the price is often worth the hassle.

And thank you all for the recommendations.

    Hi Yuri,

I do apologize if you have got caught by our vetting procedures, I am sure i will not be long.

We do not auto activate accounts anymore, so as to protect our existing and new resellers. I hope you appreciate the reasons behind this.

    Kind regards,
