    Post Best free control panel

I am planning to buy a vps from photonvps (dont know when)and i cant afford the cPanel so in order i will ask them to install a free one. I wanted to ask you what is the best for someone coming from shared hosting. It has to be very simple and easy like cPanel

Also if you can, in your posts include a demo or images of the panel you suggest.

    Thank you,
    Jim

Man, sorry but I have to say this: this type of questions have been asked about a million time on this forum. Do a quick search, and you'll find it.

if you are the only person that will be using your vps ( No resellers ) , you can try kloxo..

Thats exactly what i am, the only problem is that the kloxo is not free and the demo is offline.
I liked also SysCP,VHCS and webmin but i cant decide what is the best

I think Kloxo is only free if you have HyperVM licence. I have heard before that it may be going to be open source.

ispCP-Omega is quite nice... I have played with it in the past and found it to be great.

It can be a bit of a pain to install, but overall it is not bad.

You can use either Kloxo or Webmin, these are very popular free control panels.

I've used Kloko before and it was pretty straight forward to use with some good features.

    Hi,

    You can refer to this:

    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/wiki/C...control_panels
    http://www.webhostingtalk.com/wiki/L...control_panels

I quite don't like that it's written "free" as there are all sorts of freeness. But the open source panels are: DTC, ISPConfig, SysCP, ISPcp Omega. Others have quite restrictive license. Only the first one of the list I just gave is included in Debian/Ubuntu (and it's my baby... ).

These 4 are totally free. I suggest you to set them up on a virtual machine at home (use a free VMWare, Virtualbox, etc. to try), and try to see if you can manage to use them, and see which one you prefer. Later, you can come back here and tell everyone...

I have used ispCP Omega, it's good, well-seen GUI, but consume huge resources. You can test it for a while. Easy to set up on Debian.
