Do you know which control panel? cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc...

Your best bet is to check out the dedicated offers section and contact a few hosts to see what you think about them. Narrow it down to a few you like and search around the forums for reviews or to see if anybody else has used them.

    Happy dedi hunting

Which control panel are you familiar with? cPanel, Plesk?

Did you already try the offers section on this forum? there are many offers from lots of provider.

Most provider will ask you to sign an IP justification form.

I also forgot to ask what hardware specs are you looking for? Dual/Quad core? 2,4,8GB RAM? Also what are your bandwidth requirements out of curiosity.

Well i hate plesk... i had trouble with it.. when a friend of mine...let me test drive a server of his..

It seems cpanel is somewhat the standard...and thats what I am most familiar with.

So yea cpanel... and signing a form is no problem....

Depending on your CPU requirements, you should easily come in within or under your budget

You could possibly get IP's on different A-Classes but the quantity of ranges will be much more limited then IPs on different C-Classes. You will need to find a host that can provide you with blocks of IP's spread over the different ranges, which will be a search in of itself past finding a provider to fit your budget. Though for $250, you should be fine in finding the specs and a SEO-friendly'ish provider.

Edit: I completely missed your location requirement. I'll edit this post with some updated info in a few minutes.

Update: Alright, Peer1.com has offices in New York City. I believe that is where their DC is located as well. That's all I could come up that I would recommend in the limited time I have to search.

One more update.. i believe Peer1 only co-locates in NYC because I couldn't find any dedi's located there on their website. They do however have servers in California.

If you do not know how to manage it, then I believe you need to buy at least a basic management packageBecause you will simply do not know what to do with it.
