    Xcache or eaccelerator for Wordpress Site?

    I have been trying to figure out which one I should be using for my wordpress site. I have read some discussion but after reading it all I am on the fence. Will Xcache work with cpanel?

    The server is running XEN, with cpanel/whm, php5

    The server spec is:
    3.0Ghz - 8 cpu's
    2048MB RAM, and 2048MB SWAP

    I have also heard some people using litespeed server, would this be any good?

    Xcache will work fine with cPanel, but installing eAccelerator is simply a checkbox within EasyApache so why not go with that? (Do remember to adjust your cache size in php.ini afterwards though)

    Have you looked into using wp supercache? Or even better run a soft web accelerator / cache. It can bring the load down 80%.

    my site is running hypercache for wordpress currently, I have tested it with wp superchache and hypercache worked better few month back, so I will see what improvements there are in the new version on wp supercache.

    Does xcache have better performance as the site has heavy traffic in peak periods?

    With eaccelerator should I use a 72mb cache, this gets used up as soon as I activate eaccelearator.

    Curious, how did you tweak wp supercache with respect to invalidating cache on new comments? Also, I have to ask, are you running suPHP?

    Performance of both should be similar really.

    How much free memory do you have? With 2GB of dedicated memory on your VPS, I would think you should be using more like 256-512MB for eAccelerator, depening on what else you're running, remember unused memory is wasted

    no i am not running suphp mod, for the comments, I had set it to: Cache rebuild. Serve a supercache file to anonymous users while a new file is being generated.

    eaccelerator.enable="1"
    eaccelerator.optimizer="1"
    eaccelerator.check_mtime="1"
    eaccelerator.debug="0"
    eaccelerator.filter=""
    eaccelerator.shm_max="0"
    eaccelerator.shm_ttl="0"
    eaccelerator.sessions="shm_only"
    eaccelerator.shm_prune_period="3600"
    eaccelerator.shm_only="1"
    eaccelerator.compress="0"
    eaccelerator.compress_level="9"
    eaccelerator.allowed_admin_path="/home/site/public_html/eaccelerator/control.php"
    eaccelerator.keys="shm_only"
    eaccelerator.content="shm_only"
    eaccelerator.log_file = "/home/rockint/public_html/eaccelerator/eaccelerator_log"
