Yes .ca is not as good as .com. No ccTLD is as good as a .com but I still think it worth much more than any junk .com, I can say that because I have received some good offers for this domain. There is very good potential in this domain if the buyer develop a site for it.

This is a great idea but last time (around 14 months ago) I approached a US based company on my own initiative with an offer to sell good GENERIC .com domain. I was accused by them of cybersquatting and registration in bad faith etc. Got some threatning letters from their lawyers and was forced to give up that name at a very low price.
As anyone can see that this domain most likely does not infringe any trademark but still I will not take risk of contacting any company on my own.
