    450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname

    For some reason When I send emails I get this message:

    2009-10-15 10:07:10 1MyQz0-0002I7-NQ <= [email protected]***.net H=localhost [127.0.0.1] P=esmtpa A=fixed_login:[email protected]***.net S=728 [email protected]***.net
    2009-10-15 10:07:10 1MyQz0-0002I7-NQ SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host pe.vmx.terra.com [208.84.244.136]: 450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [68.168.212.2**]
    2009-10-15 10:07:10 1MyQz0-0002I7-NQ == logistica@******.com R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (0): SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host pe.vmx.terra.com [208.84.244.136]: 450 4.7.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [68.168.212.2**]

    I did a lot of research and the most frequent answer is setting up the rdns / a records, which it was done already, but the problem persists:

    [email protected] [~]# host 68.168.212.2**
    2**.212.168.68.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer stable.inter***.net.
    [email protected] [~]# host stable.inter***.net
    stable.inter***.net has address 68.168.212.2**
    [email protected] [~]#

    I would really appreciate if you have any suggestions?

    The reverse dns entry for the ip 68.168.212.2 is not set. The commands which you executed for finding out whether the reverse dns is set should not be executed from the same server as the output would be got from the /etc/hosts file.

    I just tried it from a different server:

    root@*** [~]# host stable.inter***.net
    stable.inter***.net has address 68.168.212.2**
    [email protected] [~]# host 68.168.212.2**
    2**.212.168.68.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer stable.inter***.net.
    root@*** [~]#

    You can use network-tools.com or any of the other dns tools available across the net to find if the ip has a reverse dns entry. From what i have tried from my end i cannot find a reverse dns entry for the ip..
