Is that possible at all?
But, This company is doing it successfully for last 7 years!
I am really curious to know more about their business/marketing strategy

Well if you read it more you can see it's actually a cluster.. with a dedicated switch and full management.
So yes, if they are truly enterprise level it's not a bad price point for a mid-large sized company who relies on their website.

That's not a strange price for an (I assume) enterprise - grade clustered setup.

That's not a dedicated server. It's a managed cluster setup. $2199 for a dedicated server would be ridiculous, it also depends on the configuration however.

If your whole company revolved around being online 24x7 were downtimes cost your company thousands of dollars per minute in lost sales, doesn't it make sense to have a cluster with constant monitoring and support ?
They handle the backups, deployment, management etc... It's not a bad deal if your in the market for it.
Sure It's a small niche, but if they target the right players, i'm sure it works out pretty well for them.

price makes sense because of their well formed cluster & premium standard support for corporate clients.

$2,199.00/month for a dedicated server cluster with switch and management. That's a pretty good price.
I've seen server clusters as high as $75,000.00/monthly, the price wasn't really publicly shown, but I looked around some and found it.Not sure what to put here :-P

I've paid more for a single server.
Thankfully prices have dropped in the last 10 years.

They are not selling servers, they are selling solutions.
If you have something somebody needs, they will buy it.

It's a cluster setup of 3 servers, so $2199/3 = $733 which isn't ridiculous for a server

Maybe I'm not wording this correctly. Put yourself in a potential clients shoes. They don't care about the servers themselves. They just care that they get a solid solution and they have a throat to choke if something goes wrong. i.e. a complete package/deal/solution that they can yell at somebody if something goes wrong. So they are again not selling the servers, they are selling a complete easy to use and easy to manage solution. Just read their selling points. The client does not need to know a damn thing about clustering, they only see a single interface.

I never really messed with servers like dedi but, Maybe they have good luck and get those big customers like TV shows for example.

Greetings:
There are two primary ways to complete (along with subsets): compete based on price where you are guaranteed to have people who sell the same thing lower. Or compete based on values where if your value proposition is unique, your competition is so few... and you get to charge for the value delivered.
Thank you.

It looks like they host a lot of high traffic and high risk sites such as FSI (FreeSexyIndians) ..
Safe haven! From what I have heard, they are very reliable but less known.

A good price for what's offered. They give a simple price breakdown for accounting with an all inclusive solution that has one place to go for support for all of it.
Thanks for this. I have bookmarked them for future reference.Last edited by IFoundHosting; 10-26-2009 at 01:02 AM. Reason: added thanks
