The new site is somehow more childish, I don't like it.
The old price was $180, I think.

Price raised a little, 15 dollars. Not a big deal, but the upgrade fee from classic to suite is "yuk".
Kinda saw it coming with all the screening from this "Ray" dude ...
Edit : Well, it's "pre-order" pricing. I wonder what the full prices will be ... ?Last edited by alucasa; 10-13-2009 at 05:39 PM.

It doesn't matter how much you claim how important your data is. If it's not backed up, it's not important.

Wow, are my eyes deceiving me? Is that really over $100 dollar increase in under a year? When I renewed my license last October it was $85 or some thing like. Now I`ll have to pay $195 to renew my license?

They are removing yearly renewal fees, but they are going to charge version upgrade fee for vb 4 to 5, and 5 to 6 so on.
The Ray guy who has been acting as some sort of representative for the new VB team, they plan 18 months for each version.
After Kier is gone, things have not been looking good.I choose not to use my signature for advertising.

So I have no choice now but pay the $195 as they no longer provide the leased option? I must have been living under a rock as I missed all these announcements. Gosh and there was me figuring I would be paying my usual $85 the end of this month for another year with vBulletin. Seems to be some major price increases with Jelsoft. Hmmmmmmm! I find this incredibly greedy and bad ethics from them

Well, for now, as long as you have an active license, vb3 to vb 4 classic is free.
Oh, and Jelsoft is no more. It is now "Vbulletin Solutions".I choose not to use my signature for advertising.

Expired owned license need to pay 15$ more than the current full license price to upgrade. They sent an email saying owned license would pay less but this option is apparently a mistake as expired licenses do not qualify.

My 3.x version is worth nothing and I can't upgrade because I didn't renew before they changed their licensing. They never sent any warning the licensing would change before changing their license and I never accepted a new licensing agreement. This has to be illegal?

I'm here to simply comment on the design. I figure they have the right to charge what they want for their software...
The design is terrible though. It's not the design itself, but the fact it doesn't do a THING for their product or brand. I'm really confused with that design choice. Ah well, I don't run a forum company that is #1 in the industry... I'll keep my mouth shut
Side note, does anyone have a "what's new" in vB 4 list? From what I'm reading it's absolutely nothing beyond what free mods would give you...Last edited by Mekhu; 10-13-2009 at 10:30 PM.

I think the overall feel of the website is fresher than the old one. However, wow - those prices are definitely something.

Looks like vBulletin are losing customers, according to their forums. Go IPB!

It's good, definitely much better compared to their old one. It's a good combination no doubt however they've just put too much on their plate I hope they can handle it. I liked it better as just forums alone, they should have kept their focus on that.

So the upgrade from v3 to v4 is free. However, for the suit we have to pay $120 by the 30th to get the discount?

I was on their site earlier tonight after receiving the email announcement. Seems there are lots of unhappy people in their forums right now.
