Create a reseller account at Enom first, develop a website and promote it in web properly. Once you have first customers just provide them with a good support service.

It would be nice for you to establish partnership with web development company so they could recommend your service to their clients.

WebHost4You, if you want to have a domain name company vs a reseller i'd consult with the guys over at http://www.logicboxes.com/ I don't know of any other providers out there that will help someone form a domain company.

You could go around this portion if you have plenty of funding although any way you would go about it plenty of money is going to be necessary.

Otherwise there are good reseller programs out there.

You need your customers first before can be a registrar ... like everyone said: be a reseller first.

There are cost of around $16.000 USD per year to be an ICANN Registrar. You need to have over 5000 domains to break even.

If this is the case, loicboxes.com is the way to go.

I would strongly advise that you resell for NetEarthOne first, they have very good pricing and are easy to get a hold of if you should have any issues.

However, I would like to warn you that it will take some time before you begin to earn from selling domain names. Don't expect immediate results from the very beginning.

I'd go with enom.com $100 deposit easy as heck! Resellerclub is good not bad prices!

Godaddy I had a reseller with them it was just not so fun at all.

    WHMCS offers a cheap reseller.

    enom is your best bet!

Yes, also think that Enom is the most suitable solution. Actually it is not a problem to find a good domain reseller. It is more difficult to earn from selling domains.

Some people think that it is easy to establish domain business. After launching a website they can't wait too long and give up. Actually, you will need to have a lot of domains to earn something. It is possible to earn $2-3 per year from one fomain. It is also a good idea to have a domain business if you already have website development or hosting company. It may take years and huge efforts before your company will become a well-recognized brand in domain industry.

Thanks for all the replies guys.. you have definately steered me into the right direction of using domain resellers first of all and if it works out then i will end up looking at becoming a domain registrar!

However, you could become first as domain reseller with a good reputed domain registrar. If you get register as a domain reseller then you can try to sell the hosting and domain at your set price.

If you follow the suggestions you won't be a registrar -- you will be reselling the products of a registrar.

But it should be noted that many huge domain registrars and hosting providers began as resellers.

As others mentioned, Enom would be a good option to resell domains. I recommend.
