Think that's bad? Back in the early 90's when I was in high school one of my neighbors parked his Subaru out at the local main road/highway to help advertise it for sale. It was very visible from the main road (which was sometimes nearly deserted late at night) and parked on an empty lot in front of some pits (where the local kids would sometimes ride quads, dirt bikes, etc). It was maybe only a half mile from his house.
Anyhow, the guys car was all smashed up and whoever did it even tried to light it on fire. AFAIK, that was the first (and only) time he left it out there over night. The guy did fix the car up and did put it out there for sale again, but after that he only left it there during daylight hours.
It was a real shame to see that happen and very out of the ordinary to see that type of vandalism around my neighborhood back then.
Some years ago, when I was in college, I had to leave my chevy blazer back in the woods when I got it stuck while out having some fun 4-wheeling with a friend. We had to walk maybe 5 miles in complete darkness & in the middle of the night to get back to my house. The only tow truck company in the phone book that would answer was some drunk guy and he straight out told me, "no way, dude, not tonight, I'm wasted." Anyhow, first thing the next morning my grandfather went out there with me in his ford f150 & a good rope, was just enough to get my blazer unstuck. So, imagine my luck compared to the guy in the OP's message and my old neighbor. Not a scratch or dent, not even touched. I suppose I got lucky with having my truck stuck back in the woods overnight. Glad nobody stumbled upon it.
