No sass without a rub ...

No its not a massage parlour ad which has crept in, it's the birth of 2 new acronyms

Sass = Software as a secure service
Rub = Relocatable user backup

Saas and the cloud are inherently insecure, not because others can steal your data, the technology exists to prevent that, but because your can't easily get your data + metadata back. No one gives you a guarantee , do they (except for a select few ...) .

Using a lightweight VM, open-source and a magic CD you can get your data + application behind your firewall and make your Saas a Sass. All you need to do is get your RUB , and no matter whether your provider sucks/ goes out of business / raises prices, whatever, you are safe with your RUB.

To put it another way, unless you can afford to lose your data , Amazon, Google and the other "cloud" players are NOT where you want to keep your business assets.

We say turn your Saas into a Sass and make sure you get your Rub ....
