    Windows VPS with .NET 3.5

    Hi,

I need a VPS with the following for a backup server:

    1GB Ram
Windows 2008 Prefered (but 2003 OK)
    .NET 3.5 framework
SQL Express 2008 Or Shared SQL Server
    x64

    Managment not required.

No control panel needed, (only installing one domain & application)

Location & price not important, but prefer larger hosts.

Your requirements are quite decent and I believe you are looking for a more reliable non-oversold provider with better performance and good amount of reliability. Do you have preference for virtualization technology - (Hyper-V/Xen)?

Looks like a good candidate for VPS. But, what are your disk space requirements?

If you are looking for x64 Windows 2008, I'd recommend you to consider Windows 2008 R2 as it is of latest Windows 7 family with good amount of benefits.

Don't go for x64 unless you require to address more than 4 GB of RAM (unusual for a VPS). Either way 32 or 64 bit the R2 version should be chosen.

Windows 2008 R2 (and possibly all future releases of server platform OS) is 64 bit only. However, I believe, the client platform OS will continue to have 32 bit support.

Unless there is a compelling reason to choose x86, always go for x64
