    Rehost a Drupal site

I need to rehost a Drupal site and would like suggestions for a hosting service that would help me with it. The truth is I really like Downtown Host, have hosted some other sites with them for a while and their support is great. So maybe they would do it.

I came into the middle of this project when the site was being migrated to a new host. Turns out the new host is down a lot and has terrible support so I need to move again. It's a bit of a pain moving a Drupal site. So if a hosting service could do it for me that would be great. Any suggestions welcome.

I'm sure many providers would be able to offer to help you transfer your website. You may want to contact individual providers you've taken interest in to check if they'll actually assist you in doing so.

I supppose you need to search. Do the search for the useing google. Then you will have a list of the web hosting providers
Then come back here and do the search for the reviews on them

I've been through the reviews and know most of the hosting services that get good reviews here. I was hoping for recommendations of those that might do a little extra and move my Drupal site for me.

If you are hosting it (topic suggests so) and if you use CPanel, make full backup and here you go.
When I migrated to DTH, they my data for me as I was unexperienced with that. You may also try my current host, Totalchoicehosting. I think (although no direct experience) they should be able to do this.

That is not rare and I assume a lot of web hosting companies do provide that
Do the search as suggested and you will have information and will be able to make the decision

There are some extra steps since it's a Drupal site. Have to dump the database and then import it at the new host, fix some connections to the database that will be broken, fix some paths in the template files.

Plus, it's not cPanel at the current host.

Well most host should be able to perform this if they are familiar with Drupal. However, some host do not provide transfer services if it is not from another cPanel host.

Have you contacted DTH to confirm this with them?

In long run, it seems to me it might be easier to just pay someone to move your site over to DTH, assuming they are not willing to do it for you.

    From DTH's knowledgebase:

Maybe they would agree to move it for a small fee? Drupal shouldn't require a huge learning curve for them, it's a common enough application.

What kinda diskspace, bandwidth are you after?

Most hosts generally do offer free transfers from your old host, but do read up the terms of service. Some of them try charging for transfers, etc.

I doubt that any host would hep you with moving your site from Non-cPanel to cPanel.

What CP you are using with your current host??? (DirectAdmin/Pleask??)
You may try finding a decent provider that use same CP so that you can move to a new host without an issue. (Most host offer free site move for same CP)

    Or
You can try getting services of a third part that can help you moving your site over to a new host. Moving Drupal site is fairly easy.

Actually, it does depend a lot of what kind of account is it, I mean, moving a only files and maybe a couple of databases is not problem, however, when you have to move 15/20 sites, with a lot of databases things change. We already agreed with Mark yesterday night to move his site for free since it does involve to move only files and 1 database.

There must be a reason I love you guys .... (Don't take it the wrong way )
    I am already missing DTH.

    Jedito ... That's really a wonderful job.
Few hosts need to learn a thing or two from you guys.

Yeah, Jedito contacted about this already. He helped me once before when I needed to flee another problem host. He and his team provide great support. Once I get the green light from the client I'll be moving over.
