Anyone watching the stock market lately?

The U.S. stock market has had some noticeable gains in the past week or so.

Do y'all think it will continue to gain, slow down, or even fall?

I hope it keeps on gaining, but seeing some trends it might slow down a bit.

I wonder if the market will slow down or instead backtrack. I am not too sure which one to suspect.

By the way, congratulations on you being one post away from 800 WHT posts!

I think the up tick is seasonal. September is sell off month for tax purposes so it trends lower. Oct ticks higher (correction from sept). With earnings being in Oct as well, expect a roller coaster especially with the recovery being uncertain!

    Regards

Get in, get the profits and get out before the end of the month is my plan.
I am looking for a crash, the current highs are not sustainable.

    I think Monte's right. It's hardly sustainable.

Apple  is doing quite well. I remember when it was $50 half a year ago.

I think it's going up because the USD is declining in value precipitously and the real market is actually stagnant or in decline.

I agree with that. With the governments having to rein in spending (some already have done so), things are looking for a correction in the real world. The world is on a stimulus high, and there's not enough morphine to keep on feeding it for long. Now that the total panic has been avoided, it will soon come the time to actually face reality.

Inflation or inflation fears might be at least partially responsible for this. It would be interesting to be able to view historical price charts with the prices in terms of ounces of gold rather than USD.

Lots of financial firms posting their Q3 results next week, and DJI will probably go even higher.

    Interesting analysis by everyone.

    Let's see what happens.

I'm kind of expecting a mild drop ('correction') within two weeks, but I could be wrong.
