Mails bouncing back with error number 450.
Dear All,
I am facing a problem with my mails. I have hosted a new domain on my server and that domain is getting a lot of bounce messages with the following error message:
Message is waiting at <Mail server name> for delivery to <recipients SMTP>.
Message delivery has been delayed to the following recipients:
Recipient: [SMTP:<recepients email id>]
Reason: Remote SMTP Server Returned: 450 <Senders email id>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found
Also when I try to check the DNS settings of that domain from network-tools.com I get the error message as:
Retrieving DNS records for <domain name>...
DNS servers
nameserver1 [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
nameserver2 [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]
Query for DNS records for <Domian name> failed: Timed out
The hosting server is configured on the following softwares:
Plesk 8.4 control panel
Bind DNS
Mail Enable Mail server
Thanks & Regards,
Jimit Shah.

your DNS server is not resolving the domain name, check your firewall make sure the dns service is not blocked, and make sure the dns service is running.

Thanks for your reply.
But if there was a DNS issue then how come my websites are working fine. Also all the other domains inside are able to send and receive mails?
Thanks & Regards,
Jimit Shah.

Absoluteint.com shows a parking page. Are you sure you have spelled the domain correctly?

I am not perfect in plesk, but just some tips on basic setup..
I feel it is a pure issue with DNS resolver.
---Just try to make your dns as 4.2.2.2 and try . if it works some problem in dns forwarding.Recursive feature is not happening or not able to contact TLSs properly. or if it is a manual configuration you can forward the requests other than local names to global DNS server like 4.2.2.2.
Hope will help you---thanks you

There seem to be no MX records for absoluteint.com Could be related to the problem.

The dns server itself is not responding.

Hello,
If you just added the domain, then allow few hours for the DNS to propagate globally.

Dear All,
I had hosted the domain in the last week of August. Also if DNS is not responding the n how should I resolve that since this is for the first time that I am being exposed to Bind DNS else I used to work with MS-DNS.
But if you will check you will get the same DNS response for Absoluteinternational.net. But the mails are working fine for it.
Thanks & Regards,
Jimit Shah.

Are you sending messages via php mail? or are you using SMTP authentication. What might be happening is it's using php mail and its sending with something like "youruserid@server1.yourhost.com" and when the recipient server tries to send back to see if that address is a valid one. It's not valid, so it rejects it. If you use SMTP authentication it will send is your account that you SMTP auth with. So when the recipient server comes back to validate it will get a response.
It's 2:14AM hopefully I got that right

If you have Plesk installed, you don't need to edit bind manually. Do you have firewall enabled? It might not have the DNS ports open.

Dear All,
I am using Asp mailing component to send mails from my application. It automatically generates mails on run time takes the values from database and fires the mail.
This component is an authenticated component i.e. I have provided the mail server authentication to this script.
Thanks & Regards,
Jimit Shah.
