VPN on VPS
Hey guys,
Is anyone here doing a VPN on a VPS?
Any advice?

OpenVPN works great and the setup is fairly straight forward. You only need a tiny VPS (64MB RAM) to run OpenVPN so its also a cheap solution.

I agree, OpenVPN is light weight and does a good job. It will work on any KVM or Xen VPS. It can also run on OpenVZ, but the provider must enable a couple of options. Most do but if you are looking at OpenVZ make sure and check first.

You can use a VPS to run OpenVPN, make sure that the TUN/TAP modules are enabled on the Linux VPS.

Most provider can install OpenVPN for you, do you have a few providers in mind?

I have bought a VPS at rackspace and installed pptpd on it.
OpenVPN is too heavy and rquers a special client for windows.
I would like to sell vpn accounts on the server.
Did anyone doing something like it?
I'm thinking about purchasing a European VPS for that sort of thing, any suggestions?

Its RackSpace Cloud Server.
Actually a ptretty decent VPS. I should probably say VM.
Its a XEN based machine.
