    Best way..

    Hello,

I'm using a program called JIRA installed on a Windows 2003 server and currently using an IP to access them. I'd like to use a subdomain like jira.domain.com to access them but the domain I want to use is not installed on that box.

Any advice on the best way to accomplish using the subdomain?

create an A record in your DNS for jira to point to that IP address.

Does that work with the IP having a port? I forgot that part...

You would have to do something like jira.domain.com:port

Thanks for your help and speedy replies

I'll contact my host to see if they can add it.

    Stupid question.

I'm trying to switch JIRA to run on another IP that was just added today and using the port :80 - it says there's already on a service on it and when I ran a command line "netstat -na" it doesn't show anything trying to access it.

Any ideas how to find if anything else is on it? Like I said, it's a new IP that was just added today.
