    Simple Control Panel VPS, updated DNS serv. -> websites don't load anymore

    Hello,

    A friend of mine has a VPS with Simple Control Panel, and he did an update from SCP Software Updates page and now all the websites on that VPS don't load if he tries: website.com, but if he uses his VPS IP the site is loading fine.

    I have attached a screenshot of intodns results and the DNS setings of one website on his VPS.

    Any ideea what might be the issue ?

    Next time do not obscure domain names when asking for help it is kind of pointless.

    Tell your friend to restart his dns server. Or try restarting the whole VPS. If that doesn't work posta domain on the server for us to check.

    Hello

    Is 208.109.120.100 the right IP address for the VPS?

    You have both nameservers set to the same IP address, they should be on different ones.

    The Nameserver on 208.109.120.100 is not responding anyway, if the IP is right what DNS server is he running? Is it acually running? Is port 53 open in the firewall?

    208 .109. 120. 100 IS the right IP address for the VPS .

    the ip and dns were set to the same address for long time ago and the site was fine. after i made that update the site doesn't work at all.

    named services is running
    port #53 is not blocked

    for iptables -L command i get these:

    We finally fixed the issue with the help of our friend Tharanga, the zones ware missing from named.conf, it seems after that update the named.conf file was modified and all the entries ware deleted.

    Now the VPS is up and running, thanks again, Tharanga.

    PS. If you have a VPS with Simple Control Panel, Cenots 4.6 ( GoDaddy ) be carefull what updates you make from "Server Updates" page, you might have some surprises.
