Hello,

I have a problem using rsync and ssh for file transfers. The iowait goes on top and the server becomes unresponsive to server web requests.


If I transfer without ssh then it's ok without any problems. Do you have any idea what might be wrong? I use thw following parameter for ssh transfers via rsync: -e 'ssh -i /xxx/rsync/mirror-rsync-key'.

Try ionice. It works well for me in this situation.

For example, # ionice -c3 rsync will only use disk time when nothing else needs it.
