Bear Mauls Woman To Death

Oh dear....some bad press for Bear.

An American woman has been mauled to death by her pet black bear as she cleaned its cage.

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Wor...Kelly_Ann_Walz

Quote:
The victim had been keeping the animal inside a 15ft by 15ft steel cage near her house in Ross Township.

Ms Walz had thrown some dog food to one side of the enclosure to distract the bear while she cleaned the other side, officials said.
hmmm...Bears can't move so quick (NOT)...what a stupid thing to do.

I wonder what her neighbours must have been thinking having a 350lb Bear living next door.

Kinda scunners me that folks are allowed to keep bears as *cough* pets...I mean come on....it's not like a pussy cat or a dog.

If your dog sh*ts in the garden or turns the buckets upside down at least you've a chance of dealing with it in a timely manner.

This bear mauls the gal for cleaning it's cage...I mean how ungrateful can you get? Bad Bear.

Hmm....on further reading it would appear this woman had a death wish.

Ms Walz also owned a Bengal tiger and an African lion, and had licences to keep them.

I actually feel sorry for the bear as they shot and killed it.

I feel no pity for someone who thinks it's cool to keep a bear, a bengal tiger and a lion as pets.

Brings a whole new mean to asking for trouble.

Heh wow a bear for a pet. Comes to show that bears do not like cages and want to roam freely.

I couldn't agree more with the fact it's sad the bear gets shot and killed in a situation like this.

As for the woman, I feel for her and her family. The article made no mention as to her intentions. We all quickly assume she was crazy and just wanted exotic pets. Who's to say she didn't travel the world to save these animals!?

Sad story all around. I do agree no one should "own" these animals.

They would have been best in good sanctuaries then... with at least some freedom.

While I do feel sorry for her death. I do feel it was wrong to keep a bear as a pet, especially in a 15 x 15 foot cage.

I think she honestly was asking for it, and they should have fined or punished the woman and took the bear to the smokey mountains or whereever not the bears fault humans can be dumber than they are!

Why would anyone keep a bear as a pet.
Also Bears need their natural habitat.
If you put them is cages it will make them angry at some point in time.
God bless the womans soul.

Keeping a wild animal is left one's choice and the outcome of it also is left to them. Its her fate and she has chosen it. I feel pity for the animal which is being shot, it should have been where it should really be.

Can human being survive in a cage?
