Which is better for me? Innohost or Hostgator?

I've searched and read about many hosts for reseller hosting and I've come down to two; Innohosting and Hostgator. I'm gonna tell you about my situation and I'll really appreciate it if you recommend me one of them.

First of all I'm not planning on reselling accounts. Even if in the future I decide to, I will mainly be using it for my own websites. Right now I don't have resource intensive websites but I have many projects in mind so I might have in the future. What I'm wondering is which one has better resources and do the resources(like cpu and ram you can use) increase as you go higher on packages? Hostgator has 24.95$ and 99.95$ packages. I'm planning on paying between 20-35 per month and if the resources don't increase with a higher package, then it doesn't make much sense to upgrade later in some situations.

The advantage of Hostgator seems to be that they have lots of stuff coming from package. Lots of programs like shopping carts, formmails, blogs etc. Innohosting has programs too but much less. However I don't know most of these programs so the ones Innohosting give may be more valuable? I don't know. Another thing I'm wondering is how important are these programs if I need what they do? I mean can I just download them from the internet and put them on my server myself? Do the host check for licences if I do that?

I'm not interested in comments like "I've been using them and their support is great" or "I used and support gave me crap" because there are thousands of hosts and out of those, all the top ones have great support so the support factor should not make a difference. Basically they're two of the best and most reliable hosts for resellers out there but I can't make out my mind on which one to choose. All help will be appreciated

By the way although I'm attracted to the many programs hostgator offers, I'm kinda irritated by the fact that they also offer shared hosting for 4.95$ and promise unlimited diskspace and unlimited bandwidth. Innohost on the other hand is honest about the limits of all (including the cheapest 4.99$) packages.

I haven't used either, but I think their both good. If you plan on reselling accounts at any point, I'd choose Inno. Reason being, they offer end user support and other stuff tailored to people who are reselling it.

I see more positive reviews of InnoHosting here on WHT than I see of HostGator.

I think HostGator is good however their hosting plans are alloted space and not actual space. For example if you choose a 50GB plan then you can sell 5 10GB plans even if your customers do not use this space.

It depends what you're looking for. Some feature differences I've drawn from looking at their webpages:

    HostGator
    4,500 Free Website Templates
    SiteStudio
    WHMCS or WHMautopilot license

    InnoHosting
End-User Support Included (This is basically inclusive support to your customers)
1 Free Website Template (Professional Plan upwards)
Free Legal Documents (Professional Plan upwards)
ClientExec license or (on Business Plan upwards) WHMCS license
    Dedicated IP (RapidSSL)
    SSL Reseller Account

I have experiences with both InnoHosting and HostGator. In my opinion HostGator is typical for a larger company - a little more speedy and efficient (accounts are setup with 20minutes) but they seem to offer more 'general' features, that aren't as specific to resellers. InnoHosting seem to be more personal, and importantly, more specialised in reseller hosting.

I'm hope this goes some way to helping you make your mind up.

Or to put it another way, they don't have "overselling enabled" for resellers.

Out of the two I would recommend InnoHosting, though you can't really go wrong with either. Both have solid reputations, it all comes down to which features from each provider suits your needs most.

I would recommend Innohosting. I used them for almost two years and can speak well of their service and support. Great uptime and extremely helpful staff. The programs you are talking about are included in something called Fantastico which is an automated script installer. Innohosting offers this as well.

Inno is also more liberal on their CPU/RAM usage, they don't really have a set limit. I never ran in to any problems.

I would also recommend Innohosting, I recently joined them and within the last month their support has been superb. I have a reseller account with them and I was worried at first about moving my websites to a different server but they did it all for me and I am very happy.
