    Multiple cPanel Servers... Consistency??

    Hello,

I will soon be purchasing multiple cPanel servers.

I am wondering if theres a simple management technique to keep them all exactly the same... IE same versions / configs(aside accounts).

    Any assistance is appreciated..

    Thanks

I'm interested in finding a way to do this with cPanel servers as well. The only method i've found is having the servers Rsync every minute and then have each nameserver pointing to a different server, but thats the best method i've got

All of cpanel's automated scripts such as easyapache/cpanel/etc store their configs in files in /var/cpanel.

Cpanel config for example is: /var/cpanel/cpanel.config

Copy it to each server. Issue these two commands:

    /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr2 --updatetweaksettings
    /scripts/upcp

    Then do this:

    Sync: /var/cpanel/easy to each server
    /scripts/easyapache --build

and your apache configs will be duplicated to all servers.

That will keep the software versions the same (except os related packages if your not using the same os) but it will install the same versions of mysql php apache etc. It will make all use the same mail server (dovecot/courier) etc.

Keep a daily cronjob for upcp which will ensure that all your cpanel servers are updated and that the cpanel softwares are identical across the servers.
