Not sure why, but when I first read about the new tool, I had come away with the conclusion that only you could see your posts, which didnt make a ton of sense to me.
It will be interesting to see how this will get used and abused and no doubt, I would like to see website owners have the ability to opt out of being a passive participant in this.
Given the option to opt-out I would be all for this new tool but I am not seeing any sort of option to do so. As an example I could post my company's advertisement/URL on WHT's side-wiki and there isn't really anything that can be done about it unless Google themselves decided to remove it... I am guessing that I would have had to have violated some provision of their terms for them to do that though.
Reminds me of that thing MS did a ways back...what was it, "intellitext", "top text", "smart tags" or something like that? They got shouted down pretty hard and it basically went away. Have to wonder if the beloved Google will also get the same protests or if folks will think it's good, because it came from the big "G"?
