virtuozzo

After reading various articles, searching forums, mailing lists, I am still confused when it comes to the following CPU allocation on virtuozzo.

I have -
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5420 @ 2.50GHz ( 2 CPU x 4 cores each = 8 cores)
8GB RAM, 2TB hard drive
Virtuozzo version - x86_64, 4.0.0-448
Kernel - 2.6.18-028stab059.6

+ 14 containers currently, may add more soon.

----------------------------------
* I need 3 containers to use 3 separate cores
* Rest 5 cores need to be shared equally between 11 (more to be added in future) containers.
* the cpu speed should show 2.50GHz on all VPSes

How should I modify my configurations ?

.

I believe I have 3 variables to play with -

CPULIMIT
CPUS
CPUUNITS

at each container configuration file.

Unless you want to give priority to certain containers, you can just leave those values at default and each container will get an equal share of the available cpu or as much as it needs if resources are not maxed out.

I need to give priority,

* I need 3 containers to use 3 separate cores (out of 8 available)
* Rest 5 cores need to be shared equally between 11 (more to be added in future) containers.
* the cpu speed should show 2.50GHz on all the 14 VPSes

Thanks

VZ doesn't give you that kind of granularity. Check out this explanation:
