software changing all my url paths

    Hello,

I am having a really big problem, I need to change all my site urls paths, for example:
    I have right now:
    www.mysite.com/site222/index.index.php

I have about 3 to 4000 files in my site, I need to change all my Urls showing the name /site222/ to /site333/

Do you know a free software I could use for this please?

    Thank you so much

AWK will do that (be CAREFUL!).

Or you could just use ModRewrite to change the URLs on the fly to the new one, but not change them in the files.

No I must change code inside the files because the software I use has an activation key, therefore with mod rewrite the activation will not work.

I have no other choices than changing them one by one, i am sue there is a software somewhere that could do this.

    Hi Bear,

Thank for your help, but where is the link? I checked my messages and did not receive anything.

    Thank you :-)

op already stated it has to be done through the actual files because of licensing..

Does no one actually read the thread any more? The answer and far more information are available if you read all the posts.

If it's still not solved try using the sed command.

    Code:
    sed -i 's/www\.mysite\.com\/site222\//www\.mysite\.com\/site333\//g' *
It will replace all the entires of www.mysite.com/site222 with www.mysite.com/site333

    Code:
    find . -type f -iname "{*.php|*.html}" -exec replace "/site222/" "/site333/" -- {} \;
