    Exclamation how to test a port

    Hi guys,

    How can i test to see if a port on my box is open or not, can i ping it with the ip and the port?

    would i be able to test only one port? i don't want to run it for all the ports as the firewall will block me

    Have you tried telneting to the port?

    e.g. telnet whatever.com port_number_here
