    WHT needs a new theme.

WHT could use a new theme, its had the same theme for years... Something a little more web 2.0

It doesn't it's fine the way it is.

    That's my 2 cents.

The only problem is it would take a while to develop as WHT has so many mods on their forum that is with this skin

Something new and fresh would be nice but this ones okay also. WHT should run a design contest to see what people come up with. This will allow for people to vote on which one they like; something very interactive. Just my opinion.

I've been with WHT for five years and I remember when they made a few design tweaks around the same time they launched the Member Profile page that's still in beta. It's a solid design, and really doesn't need to be changed. However it could be freshened up in areas.

I agree with Veltrap, though, that designing a whole new theme would be a hassle because of all of the modifications they have running with this theme already that would need to be switched over.

What they could do is colorize things like vbulletin.org has with a color selecter

Shouldn't be too hard just create a bunch of child styles and then take all the images and use the hue/ saturation tool in like Fireworks for example and colorize them all to that saturation / hue you pick and volia green, red, orange, whatever you want all for WHT Just need a creative mind.

I like it how it is but having a section where people can post custom made skins would be cool.

I think they would be fine with just a new logo. Hold a logo contest, and I'm sure a lot of designers will attempt, as its a big community.

Changing a logo is not so simple. The logo is used on the website, as well as newsletters, hostingcon booths, name badges, corporate papers, business cards, t-shirts, coffee cups...

Even if the theme changes, I doubt the logo will change.

Yes, I understand that. Eventually though it will need some updating, as all logos do. An example is www.getafreelancer.com

    Good idea.
also they don't have to open each image and apply hue/saturation filter.
It can be done on the server via a simple imagemagick script.

I'm happy with the current one. WHT's skin has evolved over time, I think this is possibly at least the third revision while I've been here?

Changes have always been evolutionary not revolutionary, and that's fine by me!

*barf!* - why should an already good looking and incredibly functional site change just to keep up with the latest trend. Don't forget, Web 2.0 is not a aesthetic philosophy - and I don't think WHT could get any more social!

I like WHT the way it is.

It'd be crap to see the place become overcooked.

Perhaps a different colour but same skin.

    Maybe a Rangers blue...

evolutionary not revolutionary - I like that!

Maybe an option of diffrent colors would be good, but a change too the default theme would mean alot of money for iNet, they would have too change alot of thier branded goods.
