    an image login

So I was looking at laptops at a techshop and I saw an ASUS laptop it had a webcam that auto logs you in when you start vista. Has anyone heard of this being done is this possible with any laptop with a webcam? Basically it starts up sees your face in webcam and wala!

Yep - You can do it with pretty much any webcam.

And what will happen if I put the big photo with your face in front of webcam?

Actually, I've read that Keylemon is working on their software to allow it to distinguish between a real face and a high quality photo of the face.

Right now it can be exploited via that method, but I know that they are (were) working on it.

Yes, I know it could be exploited, that's why I have posted that question The conclusion is - do NOT use this system if you have sensitive and important data on your computer.

Some laptops have the fingerprint scanner as well.

Just add sound recognition, and a standards password and you'll have one hell of a secure laptop!

    - Must recognize your face
    - Must validate your fingerprint
    - Must validate your voice print
    - Strong password to be typed into keyboard

one would wonder whats on your pc that needs to be kept so secure. or more to the point...what are you trying to hide. either way nothing stops ISPs from monitoring your internet traffic.

So I could just wear a digitally created mask that looks uncannily like the laptop's owner and voila I'm in.

How many false-negatives do these face recognition programs generate?

I would hate to be locked out of my laptop! (At least until I plugged in a USB key or similar backup login device.)
