I am currently using MagicJack for last one year and happy with it, but then just came to know of this new provider netTALK tk6000 http://www.tk6000.com , just like MagicJack to make calls through internet.
Seems to be cheaper and also does not need your PC to be on all the time as it is directly hooked to the switch/router. Also they say we just have to pay 4 payments of 24.95 + S&H and we don't have to pay anything forever (meaning lifetime of unlimited calling).
Since my sister is coming home next month hence I am planning to get one and need advice if any one here using netTALK tk6000. Advice regarding connectivity, voice quality etc.
Well this is good. MagicJack is ok, but it means leaving the PC on all the time. At least with Vonage I didnt have to, and MJ is far from as good as Vonage on quality anyway because it use the computer. It's on my wife's slow azzed power sucking computer. I will look into this TK for that reason alone.
Well since I have not used Vonage, hence can't compare Vonage to MagicJack, but for me MagicJack has been fine, voice is clear no echo or delay. But it needs PC to be ON all the time, that is also not a problem as one of my PC is always on for various uses, I have to keep it on, so my MagicJack is also hooked to it. But that is office.
And I am planning to get this TK6000 for home for my mother, so that my mother here in India and my sister and many other relatives in USA can talk without worrying about international phone bills. If it is as good as MagicJack regarding connectivity and voice quality, its good for my purpose.
