I have registered a domain with a domain reseller account holder. He has given me only the control panel and ftp account details. But now a days I'm unable to connect to my ftp site, and they are not giving any support at all. So I decided to transfer my domain to a new server, but he is not willing to give the 'domain secret' of my domain. Could anyone please let me know what I have to do in this situation? Can I make any legal move?
My domain name registrar is a reseller of a web hosting company. He had registered the domain for me. Now he is not willing to give the domain secret.
So go straight to the actual registrar, the reason I asked for the domain was because I was going to look up the registrar for you. If you already know the registrar then that would be the place to receive help.
I am the actual owner of the website but the registrar has given me only the control panel and ftp account details. He is refused to provide my domain secret.
You already said that... Contact the actual DOMAIN REGISTRAR (not your host, or whoever registered it for you) and tell them what is going on... If it is actually registered to you (and not your host) then you should be able to get it unlocked however if the host/person/company registered it in their name you're going to be out of luck.
