I'm making a website which sells digital goods. Are there file hosting services that allow customers to download directly from them when they buy something? Instead of hosting files on my own web host?
Depending on what you are looking for you could look into CDN services if you want to deliver the files fast to the buyer; together with token authentication you can limit the downloads to those who payed for the service.
Of course there might be other file delivery options, maybe someone else has some suggestions for those.
Because if I have many people downloading at the same time, it will slow down downloads, as well as my whole website will it not?
If you do have a lot of people doing so yes, although I wouldn't think you would be having dozens downloading the files all at the same time otherwise I would think you would have the funds to pay for a CDN or something similar.
If you have files which are being downloaded and uploaded you need refuse using the word file hosting. You need server which will be active. And that could be as VPS as dedicated sever but not so called file hosting
Hi, try e-junkie, I have never sold with them but I have bought ebooks, sites and articles that are hosted there and people can pay via paypal, as a 'customer' of the service it worked fine and the download speeds have always been good
