    mod_perl installed but not working

    Hi

    I'm running whm/cpanel runing apache2.2 and mod_perl (installed by cpanel)

    in my httpd I have the line:
    LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so
    but when I do a "/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -l" mod_perl isn't in the list:
    Compiled in modules:
    core.c
    mod_authn_file.c
    mod_authz_host.c
    mod_authz_groupfile.c
    mod_authz_user.c
    mod_authz_default.c
    mod_auth_basic.c
    mod_include.c
    mod_filter.c
    mod_log_config.c
    mod_logio.c
    mod_env.c
    mod_expires.c
    mod_headers.c
    mod_setenvif.c
    mod_ssl.c
    prefork.c
    http_core.c
    mod_mime.c
    mod_status.c
    mod_autoindex.c
    mod_asis.c
    mod_info.c
    mod_suexec.c
    mod_cgi.c
    mod_negotiation.c
    mod_dir.c
    mod_imagemap.c
    mod_actions.c
    mod_userdir.c
    mod_alias.c
    mod_rewrite.c
    mod_so.c
    Therefore when I use a perl script its not running as an apache process:
    21907 xxxxxxx 17 0 7084 5260 1808 R 3.3 0.1 0:00.10 browse.cgi
    17539 nobody 15 0 36460 10m 4464 S 1.0 0.1 0:01.30 httpd
    17545 nobody 15 0 36924 11m 4508 S 0.3 0.1 0:02.41 httpd
    17560 nobody 15 0 36452 10m 4572 S 0.3 0.1 0:00.76 httpd
    17570 nobody 15 0 36848 11m 4580 S 0.3 0.1 0:00.77 httpd
    any ideas whats wrong?

    thanks in advance

    I think I found the problem

    I needed to put the following in my apache conf file
    <Files ~ (\.cgi$)>
    SetHandler perl-script
    PerlResponseHandler ModPerl::Registry
    Options +ExecCGI
    PerlOptions -ParseHeaders
    allow from all
    </Files>
