Rackshack has been "inspired" before, so I wouldn't be too suprised if they did copy the FAQ's...

It's debatable, I suppose...

It appears the layout or structure of the pages are the same. I see nothing wrong with someone using the same layout as another Web site since designed layouts in most cases cannot be legally copyrighted. It's nearly impossible not to get ideas from other designs whether inspired, intentional, subliminal, or whatever you want to call it. However, I do have problems with leeches that blatantly rip and steal Web site content and/or images.

I'm sure these FAQ's have been copied off by other hosting sites as well.
Anyways, I believe Rackspace copied off of Rackshack's FAQ. Here's RackShack's archived site: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.rackshack.net
But who really cares

Hmm seriously you guys think rackspace would copy them? Rackspace is a far larger company than rackshack and have been around for some time. I highly doubt rackspace would copy anyone.
Maybe this will give you some insight: http://www.rackspace.com/about/corpo...tid=0005-99999

How my trust meter works.
Rackspace - allows spammers.
Rackshack - does not allow spammers.
I don't trust anything about rackspace after that.

Are you sure about that? I've always thought that Rackspace was not as big as Rackshack, but honestly I don't know for sure. Do you have any figures on this to back up your statement? Not that this has anything to do with the thread topic (my apologies for the tangent).

Yes, rackspace allows spammers. I have sent multiple complaints about spam to rackspace, and it seems if the site is big enough - the site stays. With rackshack they always get closed down, sometimes it takes a little bit of time, but they do close them.
I monitor spam with spambot collectors so I can block spammers from our 65,000 users of our mail service. So I really look carefully at alot of spam. I think rackspace and exodus (or whoever runs their ipblock now) are the two worst domestic hosts as far as hosting spam.
Rackspace hosts spammers like adigen.com, fantastic-bargain.com and other spammers. I define a spammer as anyone who sends to my spambot collectors.
