    Remote access to the mysql server

    How can I disable remote access to my msql databases at my server? I don't want to anyone can connect to my databases from example, his local PC.

    Install a firewall and don't open up port 3306...

    Two ways.

    Via iptables [ work on linux]

    /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp --destination-port 3306 -j DROP

    via mysql configuration.

    enable this options in your my.cnf

    skip-networking
