2 different subdomains on 2 different hosts, is this possible?
Say I have sub1.mydomain.com and sub2.mydomain.com, is it possible that sub1.mydomain.com is on a host and sub2.mydomain.com is on another host?
Note that mydomain.com in both cases are the same domain but sub-s are different.
Yeah its no problem, Just change the DNS A record for sub2.mydomain.com in the node where mydomain.com is hosted.
The add sub2.mydomain.com as a proper new domain in the new server. It will work fine as u want.
You can also have four different nameservers for a doamin. You can use use two each server registered with your domain registrar, and just create the subdomains.
Thank you Woooo.
midnight, how can I create 4 different nameservers? do I need more than 2 IP address?
When you register a domain name, it gives you options to register up to four nameservers. I am using enom to register my domains and my clients domains. I know enom gives you options to have up to four name servers. The idea behind this is for users to be able to have a backup site should that be necessary. If you are having your site in two different servers, you should receive or have two different ips for the nameservers.
