Seems like such a bold claim without much proof. iWeb's sales team has been nothing but fantastic.

If you are not wanting to order something best thing is to never fill out the order form in the first place....

If they just wanted to charge your CC *you* already gave them that information. Anyways iweb is a reputable company, they are not around trying to run an identity theft operation.

If you want the money back and they will not give it back rather then reporting the card stolen issue a chargeback. I guarantee you once you start that process they will listen -- just don't do that until it is your final and only option.

I am fed up with the iweb network recently, things have never stabilized for me since their ddos issue.... its total b.s when I am having issues and i see the nice "everything is fine" blog posts. Issues are short, but they cause a lot of headaches for me, they are a daily occurrence now.

Kévin, can you send me directly some a traceroute by MSN or email.

I will verify by myself with the IT Manager.

Things were a little unstable for a while after the DDOS attack. I'm guessing it may have caused the issue that I was having above, which was a Peer 1 issue. But for the past few days its been as solid as a rock. Its typical iWeb.

Our team did a very good job mitigating the attack reoccurrence that occurred until last saturday. But mitigating attacks means to work on the routers which can sometimes cause a few seconds of latency and/or route changes but there should have been nothing more than a few seconds of latency (that's what Kevin refered to on our blog). There should have been no noticeable latency since last saturday even of a few seconds, if you still are experiencing such problems it might not be related with the attacks. It would be important to try to have a traceroute at the moment when you experience the brief problem.

The second hop (edudsl) looks like the one showing weird response times.

Are you sure you do not have problems with other web sites or servers? I would say you should see the same ping response times for other web sites or servers not at iWeb.

The problem seems to reside at your ISP. We ran a reverse traceroute and reverse pings (from your server to you) and it really shows inconstant response times when we ping the edudsl hop ath-lns-2-3750-1.edudsl.gr (83.212.26.70) if we ping the previous hop in Athens athens3-to-eie2.backbone.grnet.gr (195.251.27.45) the response times are very stable and an average of 150ms. So the problem really seems to reside between Athens and Edudsl probably at Edudsl.

Here are some exemples when pinging edudsl from your server (bad and unstable response times) :

    PING 83.212.27.194 (83.212.27.194): 56 data bytes
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=1 ttl=241 time=162.425 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=2 ttl=241 time=169.933 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=3 ttl=241 time=296.045 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=4 ttl=241 time=439.471 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=5 ttl=241 time=548.774 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=6 ttl=241 time=184.756 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=7 ttl=241 time=232.602 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=8 ttl=241 time=301.625 ms
    64 bytes from 83.212.27.194: icmp_seq=9 ttl=241 time=481.948 ms

And when pingning athens from your server (looks good and stable) :

    PING 195.251.27.45 (195.251.27.45): 56 data bytes
    64 bytes from 195.251.27.45: icmp_seq=0 ttl=243 time=157.226 ms
    64 bytes from 195.251.27.45: icmp_seq=1 ttl=243 time=157.279 ms
    64 bytes from 195.251.27.45: icmp_seq=2 ttl=243 time=161.754 ms
    64 bytes from 195.251.27.45: icmp_seq=3 ttl=243 time=156.056 ms
    64 bytes from 195.251.27.45: icmp_seq=4 ttl=243 time=160.843 ms

I would suggest contacting edudsl to see if they have saturation or capacity problems.
