Question Dedicated hosts that support IPv6

Well with IPv4 addresses going to run out in a few years and IPv6 becoming the norm, which dedicated web hosts support IPv6 addresses?

By the way, what happens if an IPv6 user tries to access my website on my dedicated server when my hosting company doesn't support IPv6? Will they get an error message?

Cari.net and Internet4you.de both have IPv6 support for their dedicated servers. You will likely need to contact their sales team in advance to arrange the support.

CPC Technologies has IPv6, I'm sure others do but I've never asked.

Most networks are built to be cross compatible if I am not mistaken.

If you didn't have IPv6 you wouldn't have an AAAA record pointed.

You will have to serve your site up on an IPv6 IP as well as IPv4 for someone using IPv6 to be able to access your site.

on softlayer's dedicated server order form it says they offer:

    Public Static IPv6 Addresses
/64 Block Static Public IPv6 Addresses

What does this mean? And howcome softlayer offers it for free? And if softlayer support IPv6 does that mean 10tb.com do too?

/64 is the notation for the size of the block of IPs allocated to you. This is many many addresses
Most companies do offer IPv6 for free actually, or at least the initial allocation.

Just in case anyone is wondering, a /64 for IPv6 is I believe 18,445,618,199,572,250,625 IP addresses. 18 quintillion IP addresses.
I think Additional IP requests will be a thing of the past with IPv6
