    Exim blosked some IP sender

    Hello

    I have a VPS with wiredtree and today my clients started to have a problem to send email.

    Som of my clients that try to send email get error in outlook. So I goes to /var/log/exim_mainlog and I see this enties for my clients sender IP:

    ===
    cat /var/log/exim_mainlog | grep 201.95.202.000
    2009-09-16 16:38:03 SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from 201-95-202-000.dsl.telesp.net.br (Digital) [201.95.202.000] F=
    2009-09-16 16:39:57 H=201-95-202-000.dsl.telesp.net.br (Digital) [201.95.202.000] Warning: Sender rate 50.8 / 1h
    2009-09-16 16:40:22 SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from 201-95-202-000.dsl.telesp.net.br (Digital) [201.95.202.000] F=
    2009-09-16 16:42:17 H=201-95-202-000.dsl.telesp.net.br (Digital) [201.95.202.000] Warning: Sender rate 49.9 / 1h
    ===

    With webmail my client can send email without issue. But with outlook from IP 201.95.202.000 he get error and generated the log above.

    I ask wiredtree support "How disable sender rate" in exim, but seems that wiredtree support dont know how.

    Someboby here in forum can help me with this??? How I can disable sender rate in exim????

    Thankx

    check http://www.exim-new-users.co.uk/content/view/65/39/ , section 39.30

    If you have cPanel/WHM installed, goto WHM >> Tweak Settings >> Mail >> The maximum each domain can send out per hour (0 is unlimited)

    Well,

    I have a look in details and the register in log that is relation with m client is this:

    ===
    2009-09-17 09:14:42 SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from 189-46-4-63.dsl.telesp.net.br (web) [189.46.4.63] F=<[email protected]>

    ===

    I have more that 2.000 entries in exim_mainlog as the above.

    I already increase smtp_receive_timeout in exim.conf but the same issue persist.

    If anyone knows how to help me, I thank you verymuch.

    WOW,

    I really think that have a big issue here in my VPS with wiredtree. Now I have more than 2.400 entries in exim_mainlog with time out message:

    ===
    [[email protected] ~]# cat /var/log/exim_mainlog | grep '(message abandoned)' | wc -l
    2462
    [[email protected] ~]#
    ===

    Wiredtree insiste to say that this is ISP issue. But with 2.462 time out from differents customers and differents ISP is too dificult to me believe that issue is in ISP and not in VPS.

    Anyone here already saw this kind of issue???

    I am sorry you do not want to believe us, but as has been shown to you in the ticket you have with us numerous times, all of the errors are coming from the ISP: dsl.telesp.net.br and are basically coming from only two different IPs at the ISP. This has nothing to do with rate limiting, it is timeout issue with that ISP as we have demonstrated to you. No other ISPs have problem sending mail and both you and ourselves can send mail on the accounts that are effected. Again, I am sorry you do not believe us.
