    Unhappy Server Load 100.00 4CPU - need help

    past 5-6 days my servers load is peaking suddenly with nearly same traffic, usually it ranges between 2-8 but suddenly it goes to 50+ whm stats say mysql is using lot of resources, so please suggest me what i do now

    Perhaps some user has setup persistent connections to your mySQL server - it would be a good idea to reboot and see if the issue resolves. Also, check what user / service is connecting to the mySQL server and for how long, and what resources they're using.

    better can give the output for top -c command

    i am not so much professional in commands please let me know command and when i should check normal time or while high load ?

    yes reboot brings back load back to normal but i dont think rebooting server many times in a day is good idea , even i tried disabling CSF firewall still no luck

    Presuming you have access to SSH - login to your server, and run the following command as the "root" user - "top -c" - without the quotation marks - http://linux.about.com/b/2008/02/06/...-busy-with.htm

    Edit: As you've already performed a reboot, the next time you get heavy loads on the servers, run the top -c command before rebooting ...

    just command is simple top -c excute via putty please check that in time of high load

    ya rebooting the server many times in not good idea btw had u recomplied apache or had set any corn or had u changed any thing in server?

    i dont touch any settings on server ,for everything i depend on my management guys , last week when load jumped above 40 i asked help they made some changes which made server cool for max 2 days now issue is back with extra jump in figure
