httpd Apache Problems
I currently have a cPanel VPS and I tried to customize my build through EasyApache and now I seem to be having problems with httpd being down. I've looked at previous older threads on the site and so far nothing has been able to fix my problem. I am unable to restart Apache.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
httpd failed @ Mon Sep 14 04:54:15 2009. A restart was attempted automagically.
Service Check Method: [tcp connect]
Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 80
Is any other processes running on port 80
netstat -alpn | grep 80 and find the output
also find the output of ps aux | grep http
and if there is any processess running. kill that.

Check apache error logs
tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
also check your server is not exceeding limit of the allowed connections
grep MaxClients /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
ps aux | grep nobody
ps aux | grep http
netstat -plant | grep :80
This should show you the stale process which is blocking port 80.
Apache's error log is the first place you need to check here. Also check if there are any other process using port 80 on your server that uses netstat command.
Its seems that your sever is exceeding the limit for number of allow connection. Try to check the error_logs.
Have you got another webserver (lighttpd) running on port 80?
