Use own DNS if fail use other

I'm running my own DNS. For safe measures:

If my own DNS is down (IP don't resolve). I want secondary DNS to point to a page, letting my visitors know it's down.

(If my IP works, never use secondary)

    How can I do this?

Read up on the BIND docs. You may want to pay attention to the section on secondary name servers.

Zone allows you to set up secondary dns... I believe its a paid service, but it may be what you are looking for.

For clarity's sake, don't use "<ip address of hostname>" use the ACTUAL 32-bit numeric IP address of the machine.
