My host is DOWN - Can YOU access it? (hostmatters.com)
OK i've been having this problem for the last week or so.. site is not accessible at all for a period of time, then its back up. I've ran traces, pings etc, and im not the only person who cant access my website. I cant even access the host, www.hostmatters.com at this very moment, 11/14/02 5:52pm CST. Can you? I noticed the problem at 5:25pm, so it may be fixed by the time you read this. What do I do about this? Someone mention some hosts have backup connections??
Please don't flame.. I do not intend on causing problems to hostmatters.com. I can not access support desk/website/etc., so I turned here.

Im a pretty patient person, but this is the 3rd time this week i've cought the problem. Each time the host blames a user on the same server running scripts, etc. - Not that I don't beleive them, but you don't see other sites, such as this one just down and out several times in a short period of time. I need reliable not unreliable.
You have to understand I've been dealing with not being able to access my site for over a week, with no solid answers/solutions.
I would call, but can't access site for contact information, so I thought the best thing to do is post here. **Updated** 877-643-1083 from whois. - busy

I don't believe that we have indicated any consistent user script issues in our responses to you. We have offered to move you to another server, which (so far, I believe) you have not elected to take. That offer still stands once we deal with the current issue (see below).
The current issue is one with bind and severe lags in lookups against secondary named services, which we're working on right now. Our forums are available at http://22.214.171.124 directly since lookups will likely time out. News is available at http://www.hmstatus.com as well. This is the only announcement we will make here at WHT since obviously we need to spend the time working this problem.

: There were some processes from a script run by another client that caused the server to become unresponsive. We've dealt with the problem so it shouldn't come up again.

As I noted over there, today we had a reseller doing something incredibly strange, which was rather disruptive
Might take you up on that offer for a server change since you have misfits on Calliope.
6:30pm - 1 hour site still down. How many ebayers left my auctions due to broken images? Unknown...
Scott's answer is correct for that time, yes. A reseller adding/removing accounts constantly does not constitute a user script issue but a user use issue, if you get my meaning. The offer to move from that server still stands, and we are aware of exactly how long the problem has been going on, down to the second.
I noticed the problem around 2:30 (West coast time) and just returned home at 5:10 and it's still dead for me also. I'm on Bendis server by the way. Hostmatters has been rock solid for me during the past year or so that I've been with them. I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of this shortly .
