    Is a VPS for me?

Hi there, I'm looking to get a server, but I'm not sure if a dedi or a VPS would be better for me.

I'm planning on running a SVN, low-traffic web server, and IRC bouncer on the server I do buy, and maybe torrent (legal, of course) a little from time to time.

I want to minimize my costs, so I think a VPS is attractive, but I'm not sure how much RAM I'll need for these tasks. I can work within disk space and bandwidth constraints, but the faster the connection, the better.

I'm also decent with linux, so I don't think I'll need a managed server.

    Any suggestions?

A 512mb-768mb RAM VPS should fit your needs fairly well.
You can find quite a few good VPS hosts in the VPS offers forum.

    State Of Confusion
I lease a VPS from ServInt and their sales team will answer all your questions quickly. Also they've had 100% uptime for more than five years now.
    I highly recommend them.

Yes, I think 512mb will be fine for you. You just take a look in the VPS offer section of this forum. I'm sure you will able to find the best managed VPS provider for yourself.

VPS with minimum 512Mb is good and enough for your needs.
You can find on VPS offers section.
Find VPS with minimum downtime, fast support and many OS selections.
    I recommend using CentOs.
