I'm looking for some colo space in the coming months, ideally half a rack with a few Mbits of bandwidth to start + good power allocation so I can use the full space.
What I've found with Canadian colo providers is that they are normally expensive for bandwidth and also don't seem to have remote hands (24/7) included in the price, they charge extra.
Can anyone recommend a provider based on the following requirements:
* an established company with Toronto DC
* half rack (lockable)
* 5 Mbits bandwidth 100Mbit port (cheap pricing per mbit as bandwidth usage grows)
* 24/7 on site DC staff
* remote hands included would be a bonus
I'd recommend ServerNorth (servernorth.com). We've been very happy with them so far, even though we are just colocating network equipment (we're an Italian ISP...) with them to access TorIX (on which they peer as well).
Feel free to give them a call at 613-852-6953 and ask for Myke. He's a very good guy to deal with.
He can do a custom quote for you, and their base prices are amazing as is. I've had a server for about a year now and had 0 downtime (other than my server being faulty). Their support is quick and efficient along with their network being top notch and upgraded all the time.
They need to learn how to structure a site you mean It shouldn't be listed under "Servers (Managed, Virtual and Dedicated)" as colocation is a different service altogether.
They're sysadmins, not web designers
I know Myke in real life, and he's an awesome dude - very professional. I don't have a need for ServerNorth's colo services, but I do buy their DSL (Internet access), and I've been very happy with the service.
