I don't have a VDS with poundhost however was wondering if anyone here has experienced downtime on the node (not due to your software not working) as I'm intrigued by their use of Hyper-V clusters which have live migration.
According to them: "If a host fails your VDS will automatically move to another host instantly.".
I have yet to find another host which has this sort of setup as we are ideally looking for managed hosting.
I am not exactly looking for a clustered setup, just a reliable VPS. The fact that all Poundhosts VPS's are on clustered notes stored in a centralised SAN makes me think this will be far more reliable than a single VPS on a single server as the prices are similar?
LeftHand SANs are composed of multiple storage nodes, clustered together. Each storage node contains its own controller, so adding more nodes increases performance and redundancy along with storage capacity, eliminating performance bottlenecks associated with legacy SAN technologies.
So to me sounds far more reliable than a simple RAID. This is a cluster of multiple RAID's.
