Resellers or future resellers....what do you look for in a hosting companies reseller program?

Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support, Tech support.

And I'm REALLLY starting to like the idea of the Virtual Server instead of the Virtual Host like at Hostingave.com or aitcom.net (of the two I like the power/flexibility of aitcom.net better I think)

Better price, then better support (friendly, fast, more personal). Actually you can't have one without the other otherwise it's best going with the primary supplier (if you can get that far up the chain).

AIT (aitcom.net) has a good package if you want to look at features. It's a shame their service and attitude are so abysmal. Their virtual server offerings are far better than the reseller programs most other companies seem to offer, where you become salesmen for them and get a couple of dollars off the normal price and have to jack it up in order to earn a resonable profit for businesses that you may do everything for. I pass on those kind of reseller programs. I got into hosting domains so I could save small businesses some money, not gouge them.

*****, another poor company, also has some good plans, including shared servers with a limited amount of other accounts/domains on them, as little as 32. They bridge the gap between the typical shared sever and a dedicated server.

If you were to emulate what these two wretched compnaies offer (and choose better free programs than ***** offers, they have a terrible copunter and use WWWboard), and proce them attractively, you would have pretty good offerings. Just make sur eyou DON'T emulate their horrible service and attitudes.

I agree with Jasper, virtual servers are much better than virtual hosts. I would never consider what many companies consider reseller accounts (more lies), where you become a salesman for their accounts at a couple of dollars off their price. With virtual servers, I resell MY space, keep most of the money (since I do most or all of the work for my customers anyway) and I pay a couple of dollars a month to the hosting company. That seems a fair distribution of income to me based on services rendered.
