2 hours and still waiting ... servage.net account setup

I applied for hosting at 7pm, London time and its 9:07pm now and still not setup!

I emailed the company asking when my account will be fully setup around 1 hour ago, they asked my payment method and the domain applied for and no reply as of yet.

How long can i expect to wait?
Anyone else have problems with servage?

You're in a bit too much of a hurry. Two hours is nothing to be worried about. Sometimes setting up an account can take time, at any host. The order may have been flagged as potential fraud for example (for a lot of reasons) and requiring manual verification.

I agree. Plus you have to remember its a holiday weekend here in the United States. I'm not sure where the company is based out of but, that could be an issue.

Is this a standard hosting account or a server?

The company is based in Germany.

3 hours is not hilarious. I would at least wait till 24 hours before starting to complain.
    Best Regards,

That's true. Some companies actually do not automate account creations for new orders due to the recent increase in fraud. It's only normal, some may even take up to 48 hours for verification purposes.

  13. #13
Your right actually I am being too hasty. I'm going to leave it for tonight and come back to this tomorrow. Just when the homepage claims almost instant set-up and around 80 has just gone of my bank I wonder what is actually going on.. I've heard too many horror stories of web-hosting payments and I don't want to become another statistic but Servage does appear to be an established company that wont run off with my money I hope.

Calm down turbo. Instant setup is usually the case, but as others pointed out if your account gets flagged for fraud, it usually goes into a pending state until someone can manually review.

It can take up too 24 hrs some times what did you order shared hosting?

    Hello inf0,

Thank you very much for your order. We are proud that you have selected
Servage Hosting as your hosting provider!

Unfortunately we receive many fraudulent orders therefore all orders needs
validation by our staff prior to activation. On average this is done within
30 minutes but under some circumstances it may take a bit longer.

We will email you as soon as your account is activated.

Thank you for choosing Servage Hosting!
Received 4 hours ago, I emailed them asking the status of my payment and no reply

4 Hours isn't a long time, specially on a Saturday evening.

Looks like their fast growth / aggressive marketing has attracted the wrong type of users so they now need manual intervention for order processing.

The types of users their "aggressive marketing" campaign has attracted, are ones that can grasp the concept of time.

If intend to set-up within a half hour, tell me around 30 mins
If intend to set-up within a day tell me around 24 hours.
A month, a month and so on...

It's not good customer service to mislead users this way at all. If your sitting in the house waiting for your new TV to be dropped off, I told you 30 mins, i arrived 24 hours later you would be angry, the same concept applies.

Well if there is no communication between you and them while this is happening, I can understand your frustration. However like others have said it is still a little early to begin panicking, and I'm sure they haven't just taken your money and ran.

I am sorry to hear the issues you are having or had with Servage Hosting. But i think you're misunderstanding the standard procedure with almost all web hosting companies. Yes, as already mentioned earlier by any othher folks here, usually accounts are set up within a few minutes to a couple hours, but no more than 24-48 hours. Your payment must clear and be checked for fraud before an account set is up for you.

Still, sometime if you sign up for an account with a free email service, the fraud protection system will deny the order as fraud. That's a standard procedure, my friend.

    So calm down buddy.

Vetting accounts manually is a common practice, instant signups normally always receive a lot of fraud and result in server abuse. I believe you may have been better satisfied if they mentioned this 'delay' in advance.

exactly Cylestyne, I believe its very wrong to mislead your customers (especially so early in the relationship) into a an "almost instant" setup that isn't at all instant.

You might to call them and ask for the delay in the activation of your account. Also, ask them to make it sooner.

Almost instant doesn't mean instantly. All web hosts have to process orders and check for fraud.

Just got this mailed to me sometime today..

    Hello inf0,

Thank you very much for your mail and please excuse our extreme late anwer.

Your account has still not been set up, but I can see that your order is in our validation list. Unfortunately the accounting department is responsible for the approval of new orders and they are not available in the weekend.

This means your account will be set up tomorrow! I\'m sorry for the inconvenience, but I\'m very glad to welcome you as new Servage customer

    Kind Regards
