There's barely a trace of geekiness in you. You can just about handle a toaster, though you quite often end up scraping the black stuff off the toast (and how does that get there?). But a computer is more or less completely beyond you. Go talk to your children about all this stuff or, if you don't have any, someone else's. Be careful not to get arrested though.

    So I enjoy life.. pah!

You are practically computer-literate, in an almost real sense. This could be a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on whether you use your knowledge for good or for ill. Looking at your answers, I'd almost certainly say it was a bad thing.

    You are 3% geek

You're definitely not a geek, though you probably have a rough idea of what electricity is or, more likely, you've heard of the stuff at least. Why not try joining the rest of us in the 21st century, though I would advise you take it stage by stage, starting, say, with the 18th.

Now to TRY and get a high %.

You're pretty much a nerd, sure enough. So if that's what you wanted to hear, well done, ish. I mean you're a "kind-of" geek, but definitely not gifted. Either you're a hard worker who's as thick as two short sales executives, or you just can't be bothered with detail. Whichever, you're a loser.

    You are 36% geek

You are certainly no computer expert, but you can probably tell a keyboard from a mouse almost instantly. Hone those skills, learn to use Word and maybe even investigate email. Who knows, it might come in useful if you ever manage to get a job.

I guess people should quit calling me on the phone with their computer problems then.

Ooh, who's a clever boy then? Or, increasingly (and eventually exclusively) who's a clever girl then? You really are a geek, and you do know your stuff. You didn't get fooled by those laughably easy questions. On the other hand, which did you get wrong? How very annoying. Now you'd better just go back and try it again (and again, and again), or you'll never be able to rest easy. Obsessive idiot.

When did this happen I don't remember becoming a geek.

The worst part is I do wonder which questions I got wrong (arghhhh!)

That could be a great side benefit! Get rid of those people calling at odd hours to ask: "Why is my monitor doing this?"

I know what a palindromic binary integer is!

    100001, 11011, 11111, 1010000101, etc
    reads same forwards and back.

    Jeez I thought i was geeky @ : You are 76% geek
    ..

You're on a particularly useless cusp known as "being a bit of a nerd". Nobody really trusts what you say about computers, but at the same time, they keep asking you really annoying questions that they could answer for themselves if they just spent five minutes thinking about it. You also have to spend a lot of time not having a life in order to keep your slightly inadequate skills up to date. You have a choice: work harder and learn more, or give up and start to enjoy life.

But skelly good lord man ... I had to look up palindromic...

    [url]I got nothing/url]

For clarity's sake, don't use "<ip address of hostname>" use the ACTUAL 32-bit numeric IP address of the machine.

lol...math, science, English, electronics, RF, fixing Harleys, drinking beer, intelligence (both kinds), psychology, sociology, philosophy..these are the things I'm good at. I just dabble in this computer stuff.

Used to be a computer geek - in the 80's. Took a long strike when Windows took over. Didn't want to do the non-command line stuff. Gotta say though that I didn't want to like Star Trek, the Next Generation when it was coming out either.

Still don't like Windows, but I've learned it.

Heh... even got a special 'senior executive' invite to microsoft's booth at Comdex next week. Maybe I'll go drink some of their beer (if they have it).
