    I use http://openwebim.org/

    Free. Works on Linux.

We used to use http://www.providechat.com/ but it was a bit buggy. Still pretty good though. Free as well.

livezilla gets my vote as well - Kayako is also a very good software, I've never been on the admin part of it though.

It is one of the best in my opinion.

Only problem I can find is all the nag screens begging you to donate to the project - easy enough to remove - the developer must be desperate for cash

Other than that though it's awesome.

I've worked with alot of Live Chat applications / software and I really like LiveZilla. They made an incredible application and offered it for free. Well done!

We currently use ProvideSupport. We find them to be a powerful and inexpensive piece of software. They support both Windows and Linux.

having tried over 30 linux's I have found that Linux Mint is by far the best of them all for the desktop in terms of stability, compatibility, and features.

It's basically Ubuntu with better proprietary hardware / software support and more sensible defaults.

It's also green like SuSE which should lessen the shock of switching

    ---

And to those of you still suggesting LiveZilla: the OP want's a "Linux Client" and LiveZilla does not fit the bill - it is a hack at best to make it work under linux and painful at most - either a live chat with a web based client or a native linux client is best.

I would say for a linux desktop Ubuntu, currently running a few desktop with Fedora and Ubuntu in the offices.
Fedora draw back 3 month development.

I will try to make room to test out this Linux Mint dist.
