    Your gamer ethics.

I've spent a chunk of time playing my current game, on Hard Mode, and sadly the game is still very bugged. Specific "Grapple" points either show up and won't let you fire, or you never get the option to fire at all. Now you've sludged along and made it to 49% on hard and due to the game bug you cannot progress any further.

This is my second run after my first got me stuck as well. So this is run through number 3. Would you cheat, just to speed up all the junk you've put up with twice and then on Hard to give yourself that rush when you're crushing enemies on Hard. But you're on run #3 due to game bugs, nothing you can do at all. Would you cheat?

The game is Batman: Arkham Asylum. I did my first run on Normal to get my bearings but got lost to a common grapple fail in the Botanical Gardens. I said to myself "Step up and be a man about this!" So I went in on Hard. I got to the third Scarecrow level and in 24 attempts (yes, I counted) my grapple point showed unable to be grappled. I play for the PC because money is tight and I've got the power in my rig to run everything so far.

That being said I feel after all I had done (and spending 3 days at 49% trying to hit this grapple I gave up and went on a third attempt from the beginning. I'm not a fan of running a game with not much replay value more then I have to. My feelings are at this point cheating can't hurt since I've been caught in this fresh from beginning traps twice now. Nothing was Hard, even on hard. I went normal to speed things up but I am a Cheat Happens Unlimited member. I see no problem with me using this is not only get where I was but to see if I get stuck anywhere along the way.

It's not cheating just to be invincible, it's just to make things 3x faster pushing to regain my lost progress.

Yet I own the copy for 360, PC date was pushed back but fortunately for me I caught a misfire at GameStop where they put out the PC version alongside PS3 and XBox 360. However thank you for the assumption, do I get an eye patch and scimitar or must I provide those myself?

I assumed a rough around the edges port. It's not the first time I've seen a port not go smoothly and definitely not the first time I've seen a game put up and taken day after a day. I suppose I'm waiting for the patch that will come to fix these problems.

    Just owned.

Since it is pirated I don't want to mention fixes for it haha.

If you have it on your 360 you could always burn the disk on your pc and change the controls walla same game.

Guess you never encountered blizzard entertainment's hack/anti-cheat system called Warden. Warden is a polymorphic anti-cheat system that can be updated on the fly, without a user even knowing (unless you're one of the few who monitor it)

I'll use cheat codes here and there depending on the game; Although there are a lot that will disable achievements if you're playing on the 360.

I think the last time I used a "cheat" (glitch, whatever) was in Super Mario Brothers (that I downloaded on the Wii since my NES is packed up) a few years ago. I wanted as infinite amount of lives as possible.

I do follow guides for some games too (if you can run through Suikoden without a guide, you are a genius) so it could be considered as such.

Not at all, that's all I am going to say.

About Warden, warden is going to get Blizzard in trouble soon, because it basically turned into spyware, which it already was in the first place, but now it searches more then just processes.

Most amazing anti-cheating system ever imo.

I've only ever cheated after I beat a game, or if I get too frustrated I'm tired of fooling with it.

as for the game above, I've never cheated on WoW.

I did that with some games and had no issues besides the fact that the grahpics where locked. And added a keyboard emulator and I was set.

Some games you just HAVE to cheat on to get anywhere, Sim City 4 being one of those, the engine is so damn hard, its hard not to cheat cause otherwise you'll end up in debt too fast.

Some of the old games, I may cheat on, but after I finish them without cheats (cough Maniac Mansion lol)

I don't cheat if I don't have to. If I'm totally freaking stuck or completely absolutely cannot do something to the point that it's making me want to throw my damn controller (or handheld system...), then I will cheat. Otherwise, I like the feeling of accomplishment. I also don't use walkthroughs or strategy guides unless I'm completely stuck.

If I'm playing for fun (after I've already beat the game on my own, or on a different save file), then I'll use cheats - ie., in games like GTA, I might start a 2nd game just to f*ck around in and use cheats or glitches.

I agree, I refuse to use cheats/glitches. Especially if the game is online, i.e. Killing Floor had a lot of glitches, I stopped playing with a friend because he would exploit it and then feel glad about himself. Fallout 3 is another with the power armor glitch, he convinced me to check it out, but once I saw it I realized it was cheating. Cheating for me makes the game less fun, I just ran through Arkham Asylum on hard, found all the Riddler puzzles, even played the viral game, all without cheating once. That to me was a sense of accomplishment. But I do agree, GTA and sandbox games, once beaten, should be cheated on just because it makes it a new type of game to pass around with your friends.
